Career Transition Services for CIBC

VF Career Management is a national, Canadian owned career management firm, specializing in career transition, coaching and talent management. Owned and operated by six partner firms across the country, we commit to a high touch, in person approach to all our services, customizing each program and delivery to meet the unique needs of our clients and customers.

We provide a wide range of customized outplacement services to meet the needs of employees exiting CIBC. Each employee is partnered with a designated career coach who understands the importance of customizing the program to meet the employee’s needs, whether seeking new employment or considering retirement.

Outplacement services are offered in English and French, and are available as follows, per our contract with CIBC:

1. VIRTUAL PROGRAM

  • Onsite support on announcement day
  • 24/7 access to Career Portal that includes learning modules and self-assessment tools, participation in job search webinars and up to 2 hours of one-to-one career coaching via telephone.

2. TIER I (Job Levels 1-6) & TIER II (Job Levels 7-10) EMPLOYEES

  • Onsite support on the day of termination notification
  • Orientation meeting with dedicated career coach
  • Individual career coaching with dedicated consultant for program duration
  • iCareerManager career assessment tools (click here to log in)
  • Resume development
  • Mock interview preparation using video
  • Self-directed mock interview via InterviewStream
  • Job search techniques and strategies
  • Access to job opportunities via online job search tools
  • Networking workshop/events – to develop and refine networking skills
  • 12 month access to Career Portal (24/7 access)
  • Workshops/Webinars/Seminars on topics such as
    • Job search, Interviewing, Networking, Career shifts, Developing and marketing personal brand, Entrepreneurship, Financial, and Retirement planning
  • Social media training, tools and technology
  • Offer negotiation/compensation package support
  • Access to office facilities during program duration
  • Access to community-based support (we will meet individuals in their community)

3. EXECUTIVE OUTPLACEMENT SUPPORT

  • In addition to the services described above, we provide additional support as follows:
  • Assigned to work with senior level consultants
  • Private office facilities and administrative support
  • In-depth psychometric assessments and debrief with certified practitioner
  • Executive workshops/seminars/coaching on personal branding and marketing program; business start-up/acquisition options; social media, and executive-level mock interview coaching
  • Personalized financial counselling Spousal/family counselling
  • Senior level networking/Industry group meetings
  • Compensation experts with knowledge of Executive compensation programs
  • Onboarding and coaching in new job for first 3 months
  • Continued consultant support with comprehensive follow-up
  • Post-program support includes continued access to online tools related support for up to 12 months
  • If an Executive is not successful in his/her new role within a year of landing, they can return to Verity for further outplacement support.

4. ONSITE SUPPORT AND CONSULTATION

We encourage you to connect with us to arrange for one of our experienced career coaches to be present at the notification meeting for the employee. This service provides helpful coaching to both the manager and HR, and helps to ensure the message and the employee’s reactions are managed and supported. The employee can then begin to focus on the future. This is the first step in developing a positive relationship with Verity.
